Charges Related to Armed Robbery in Illinois

There is not just one charge for each violent crime in Illinois. Assault charges may become aggravated assault charges if certain factors are present. Burglary can be charged as “burglary” or “home invasion” depending on the building where the crime occurred.

In this post, we’re going to focus on the different charges in our state that are related to robbery. Since we just wrote about simple robbery charges and the difference between robbery and theft in Illinois, we’re going [...]

What Amount of Drugs Gets You Charged With Possession in Chicago?

Less than a year after Governor Rauner decriminalized small amounts of marijuana, Illinois lawmakers are looking to make recreational marijuana legal throughout the state.

The measure follows the trend throughout the country (except at the federal level) to loosen laws on the drug. What Exactly Does the Bill Propose?

SB1722 was originally [...]

Confrontations with the police can be tricky, especially after reading stories where officers overstep their bounds and use unnecessary force or make false arrests. However, you could be forgiven for thinking “don’t spit on police officers” is an obvious piece of advice.

Apparently, Chicago Bears cornerback Deiondre’ Hall missed that memo. In late March, after doing just that, Hall ended up getting tasered in the leg and arrested for multiple misdemeanors.

Officers confronted Hall, 22, around 1 A.M. [...]
